Anthology Magazine Poetry Competition

Established to recognize and encourage excellence in the craft of poetry writing and to provide a platform for publication, the Anthology Poetry Competition is open to original and previously unpublished poems in the English language.

Prize: €1,000

Katherine Anne Porter Prize in Short Fiction

The University of North Texas Press announces the 2027 Katherine Anne Porter Prize in Short Fiction. The winner of this annual award will receive $1,000 and publication by UNT Press.

The Lascaux Prize in Flash Fiction

Stories may be previously published or unpublished, and simultaneous submissions are accepted. True stories are welcome as long as they’re written in a narrative style.

Southward Creative Nonfiction Award

The Munster Literature Centre is looking for compelling writing, as memoir or as innovative essays or as an admixture of both. Prize money will be paid upon publication of the essays.

Bellevue Literary Review Prizes

The BLR Prizes award outstanding writing (a poem, a short story, and an essay) related to themes of health, healing, illness, the mind, and the body. 

Prize: $1,000 for each genre

International Amy MacRae Award for Memoir

The contest was created in celebration of the life of the wondrous Amy MacRae and in support of her living legacy to improve the outcomes of women with ovarian cancer. Original, unpublished works of excellent memoir writing, to a maximum of two thousand words, are accepted from anywhere in the world.

Prize: CAD $1,000

North Street Book Prize

The prize is in its twelfth year. One winning self-published or hybrid-published book can win a grand prize of $10,000 plus expert marketing services. Winners in each category can win $1,000.

Richard J. Margolis Award

The Richard J. Margolis Award is given annually to a promising new journalist or essayist whose nonfiction work combines warmth, humor, and wisdom and sheds light on issues of social justice.

The Letter Review Prizes for Short Fiction, Poetry, and Books

The Letter Review Prize is an internationally celebrated event, offered every three months in the categories of short fiction, poetry, and books.

Prize: $3,000 total prize pool
