Dear friends of AWP,

What a thrill #AWP25 was! We’re so thankful for our attendees, members, and sponsors for joining us in Los Angeles, California, last month for the 2025 AWP Conference & Bookfair. We’re already looking forward to an amazing conference next year in Baltimore, Maryland, on March 4–7, 2026.

Baltimore is an illustrious city with deeply rooted literary history and character. From sitting on the Chesapeake Bay (one of the most biodiverse US habitats) to being a stomping ground for accomplished writers for centuries, Baltimore is loud, proud, and admittedly hardened in some ways, yet resilient, unique, and diverse. Its moniker, Charm City, didn’t appear from thin air. As a child, before moving to Maryland, I thought Baltimore was the state capital. In my heart, I still believe that—if not the legislative capital, Baltimore is the cultural center of Maryland.
